About Relaxation Station Spa & Salon

Our Story
I originally trained to be a Music Teacher and took my Bachelor of Education. After teaching several years and loving it my parents became ill. I accompanied my parents to many medical appointments and what angered me most about their illnesses was that they were entirely preventable.
After they passed away I felt that putting on Christmas Concerts and teaching children to read was not where my passion was. I wanted to help people have a longer, happier, healthier life. So a few years after they passed away I enrolled in the Alberta Institute of Massage in Red Deer.
In July 2012 I opened Angel Massage Therapy and Esthetics in Ponoka, Alberta. In 2014 I moved to Wetaskiwin, Alberta and rented a room for Massage in a Physiotherapist’s Office. In March of 2020 I graduated from the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada. A Manual Osteopathic Therapist is not actually a new profession it is probably older than Massage Therapy. What is new is that their techniques are covered under benefit plans now.
The Esthetics part of my business is to help people feel good about themselves. Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathic Therapy is preventative. If you take care of yourself now you will have less health issues in the future to deal with. The therapies also take care of issues in the here and now and slow the progress of some conditions.
In March 2021 my husband, Darcy, and I bought a building with three bays. He has his game shop, Game Day Hobbies and Collectables, in the first bay. In the middle bay we have our laundromat, Snappy Cleaners. I have my spa and music studio in the third bay. Those that come to my Spa will find an electric piano in the front. Why? Because every spa needs a piano. 🙂
